Benchmark Hospitality International Names John Davies Vice President Marketing

The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, February 2010 … Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed John Davies vice president marketing for the leading, privately-held hospitality management company. Greg Champion, chief operating officer, made the announcement.

"It is a pleasure to welcome John to Benchmark Hospitality," said Mr. Champion. "He brings significant industry knowledge and experience to his new position, as well as an extensive and proven background in hospitality marketing."

John Davies will be the first professional to hold this title at Benchmark Hospitality International, as the position has been newly created to support the important role of integrated marketing at the growing company, including advertising and public relations. He was previously head of his own firm specializing in hospitality marketing and sales leadership.

Prior to starting his company, Mr. Davies served as vice president marketing for Noble House Hotels & Resorts, while based in Carefree, Arizona. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of the communications and branding programming for the company's portfolio of 13 hotels and resorts.

Mr. Davies has held the title of vice president of sales and marketing for Tiburon Hospitality Management, also in Carefree, Arizona. Here he experienced significant success in establishing and developing integrated sales and marketing programming for the company's resorts, including strategic repositioning and branding initiatives.

Previous to this appointment, Mr. Davies served as vice president sales and marketing for Noble House Hotels & Resorts, during his initial period of service with the company. Earlier in his career, Davies worked at resorts in California and Arizona, serving within the sales and marketing divisions at the director and vice president levels.

John Davies is an honors graduate of the University of California, where he earned his Bachelors degree. He received his CHA designation from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Mr. Davies and his family are relocating to The Woodlands.
