Jeff Blackburn offers more than 20 years of accomplishment-laden experience in the Information Technology/Data Management industry, driving achievement of the highest priority sales growth, market share, and operational efficiency goals. A key strategic and tactical contributor in efforts by BHI to increase sales while improving operations, Jeff brings valuable insight and knowledge regarding the leadership and management challenges faced by the hospitality industry.
Beginning his career in the healthcare industry, Jeff’s first position was as a financial analyst for Cardinal Healthcare, a Fortune 200 company with a renowned reputation for driving out cost within the healthcare industry. During the next several years, Jeff held positions of increasing responsibilities, finishing his career with Cardinal Healthcare as an Operations Manager.
Leveraging an ever-expanding portfolio of qualifications, covering sales, operations, database management and programming, Jeff spent the next three years working contracting programming jobs for companies such as Dell Computers and BMC Software. These positions allowed Jeff to develop an extremely high technical proficiency in the areas of data management.
After developing a unique blend of business and technical skills, Jeff settled into the role of Director of Information Technology for Northeast Medical Center Hospital, a full-service, not-for-profit hospital located in Humble, TX. Jeff was charged with writing and implementing a custom cost management system. Affecting virtually all business areas – clinical and administrative – his work in this area was instrumental in achieving compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and saving the company $5.2 million through improved controls.
Most recently, Jeff is the Vice-President of Business Intelligence at Benchmark Hospitality International, where he is tasked with creating a “business driven” system that will reduce measurable problems affecting the profitability or efficiency of our properties. Prior to this position, Jeff was Director of Information Technology for BHI.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. He is also a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer.
